Re-drawn from a 2008 24-hour comic, “Shipwrecked With Dan the Gorilla” is a story of interspecies friendship and heartbreak.
Great stuff, Simon!
Great work. That has to be the best pacing I’ve seen come out of a 24 hour comic. Fantastic!
That was fucking brilliant my friend. My podcast the @wellwatchers are HUGE fans of your PROPHET run. If you ever do a show over in the states let us know so we can do an interview. Again awesome stuff and I hope to see more!
Yeah dude. That was fucking great.
Whole-E-Crap. This is great stuff. I feel like I should have paid to read this. Quick! Go find a publisher so I can.
Wait, this was a 24 hour comic?! This is fantastic! Thank you for posting this, what a fun read!
I loved this. Very nice job! I appreciate you creating art for others to enjoy.
still one of my favorites man!, nice to read it again :D
Nice SImon! A big fan of your stuff, especially when you write and draw!
This was so sad… brilliant and very nice!! Wonderful work. :D
Holy mother of wow. That is incroyable! Uncrediblate! Amaze-balls!
Kate Beaton sent us. You are a tiny god.
Awesome stuff, love it
AWESOME. Great work!
Excellent work, Simon. Really admire this.
Very enjoyable read! I am “patiently” waiting for the next one!
I’m throwing money at the screen! Why won’t anyone take it for this?!
This was a great read. Doing this within 24 hours is mighty impressive. I like the line work and style you went with, and how its clean yet still distinctly different after you went back and cleaned up the drawings.
All I would ask is that you DON’T write a sequel. Sequels seem to always be written for something, but I feel like this is a nice, contained story that ends on a somber, yet poignant, note.

Nice! Found it on StumbleUpon.
this is awesome, thank you
Could not stop scrolling.
The vulgarity was a little much but the story and drawing was fantastic.
Yea, because when you’re trapped on a remote island with a talking gorilla you tend to watch your language…
awesome content, great pacing, really digging this. btw, what do you mean by redrawn in description of title?
Well, I drew a rough version at the actual 24 Hour Comic event, then drew this tighter version for print and distribution.
Really good stuff

I do in fact – the content isn’t all of this tone, though. Be warned, dinosaurs abound. http://povorot.deviantart.com/

I am a maker of Bisaya Short Films at the Global Solutions Provider bisayafilms.blogspot.com and I come from the Philippines where monkeys of all bread abound. Monkeys in the politics. Monkeys in the congress. Monkeys in art. So far this might be the best although a bit expected and blase piece of friendship comic I’ve read so far. This is an achievement.
Hey Simon, I’ve been on stuck on a tiny sub-Antarctic Island in for the last 11 months, with 3 months to go. Population: 21. We man a remote research station. Most of the men on the island, including myself, look similar to your Brain character at this stage, complete with beard and top-knot. I found this and had to show my team mates- as we are all getting to that point of the expedition when we are looking forward to coming home.
We really enjoyed it very much. So thank you man.
Dude, a 24hr comic that good comes around very rarely, thanks for making it available for free. I’d pay good money to see more!

Well Done! I’d read books of this.
Brilliant m8! I read the finitely read the trade version of this if you were to make it. Also, saw up there that you worked on Prophet. Another absolute favorite of mine, kudos for being involved with another brilliant one. I’ll go back and reread it and find your stuff.
