Re-drawn from a 2008 24-hour comic, “Shipwrecked With Dan the Gorilla” is a story of interspecies friendship and heartbreak.

    This was a great read. Doing this within 24 hours is mighty impressive. I like the line work and style you went with, and how its clean yet still distinctly different after you went back and cleaned up the drawings.

    All I would ask is that you DON’T write a sequel. Sequels seem to always be written for something, but I feel like this is a nice, contained story that ends on a somber, yet poignant, note.

      Well, I drew a rough version at the actual 24 Hour Comic event, then drew this tighter version for print and distribution.

    Hey Simon, I’ve been on stuck on a tiny sub-Antarctic Island in for the last 11 months, with 3 months to go. Population: 21. We man a remote research station. Most of the men on the island, including myself, look similar to your Brain character at this stage, complete with beard and top-knot. I found this and had to show my team mates- as we are all getting to that point of the expedition when we are looking forward to coming home.
    We really enjoyed it very much. So thank you man.
